Budapest Marathon
The Budapest Marathon runs along the Danube, crossing between Buda and Pest on some of Europe's most recognizable bridges. It's a flat-to-rolling course through a city that rewards the effort.

Race-Day Weather
October in Budapest runs cool, with a chilly start that you'll warm out of by mid-race. The morning gun can feel cold enough to want a throwaway layer in the corral, but once you're moving you'll shed it quickly. Afternoons are mild, so the back half of the race is usually comfortable rather than cold. Wind off the Danube is the real variable. On an open riverbank course, a headwind on the return leg can cost you more than any hill. Check the forecast the day before and plan your pacing accordingly.
