Newport Marathon (Oregon)
Newport runs a gentle out-and-back along the cool Oregon coast, where low elevation and mild temperatures give focused runners a real shot at a qualifying time.

Race-Day Weather
Late May on the Oregon coast means cool and often overcast conditions. You'll probably start in the high 40s and finish somewhere in the mid-to-upper 50s, which sounds ideal until you factor in the wind off the Pacific. That coastal breeze can make it feel colder than it is, especially on the exposed stretches. Bring a throwaway layer for the corral. The good news is it rarely gets warm enough to slow you down, so if you dress right, the conditions generally favor a solid effort.
Entry
Registration is online only. Entry is open to all runners but limited to 500 marathon participants to maintain an intimate race experience. The race often sells out months in advance.
