Helsinki City Marathon
Helsinki City Marathon runs through the Finnish capital on a flat, multi-loop course in early May, when the city is easing into spring and the days are growing long.

Race-Day Weather
Early May in Helsinki runs cool, and that's mostly good news for racing. The morning start will feel cold, so plan on a throwaway layer for the corral and expect to warm into it after the first few miles. Afternoons don't get warm by most standards, but if the sun is out and you're running a slower pace, it can feel milder than you'd expect. Wind off the Baltic coast is the real variable. If it picks up, you'll feel it on the exposed stretches. Dress in layers you can shed, not a heavy jacket you'll regret by mile eight.
Entry
Open registration with early bird pricing available. The race offers tiered pricing with earlier registration receiving discounts.

Most travelling runners fly into HEL, about 10 miles from the start, right on the doorstep by rideshare or transit, roughly a 16-minute trip. Stay close to the start in Helsinki so you're not fighting race-morning closures and transit on tired legs. Arrive a day early to clear the expo and bib pickup, and build in buffer for gear-check and corral entry.
