Race-Day Weather
Late August in Sydney means you're racing in late winter, which is genuinely good news. The gun goes off in cool conditions, typically in the high 40s, so dress in a throwaway layer for the start and expect to warm up by mile four or five. Daytime highs land in the mid-60s, which is manageable but not cold. Wind off the harbour can be a factor on the bridge crossing early on. Overall it's about as reasonable a weather window as Australian racing gets, and most people find it suits a solid effort.
