The Cox Providence Marathon is a loop course through Rhode Island's capital city, with enough climbing to keep you honest and a finish that rewards patient, disciplined running.

Race-Day Weather
Early May in Providence can go a few different ways. Most years you'll get a mild morning in the low 40s to low 50s at the gun, which is comfortable for warming up but can shift warmer as the race goes on. Humidity is a real factor here in late spring, and if you hit a grey, damp day, your pace will feel harder than it looks on paper. The back half of a loop course with 700 feet of gain is where warm conditions bite hardest. Dress in layers you can shed early, and don't wait until you're thirsty to drink.
Entry
Registration is open online at RunSignup and stays open until 15 minutes before race start or until the marathon event sells out. The race is part of the Rhode Races series and partners with Make-A-Wish foundation for charitable giving opportunities.

Most travelling runners fly into BOS, about 43 miles from the start, a manageable drive by rideshare or transit, roughly a 68-minute trip. Stay close to the start in Providence, RI so you're not fighting race-morning closures and transit on tired legs. Arrive a day early to clear the expo and bib pickup, and build in buffer for gear-check and corral entry.
